Disturbed adds dates, acts to Music As a Weapon...

Alt-rockers Disturbed have added a few new dates to their traveling hard rock festival, Music as a Weapon, while also confirming acts for the tour's second stage.

Currently finishing up a winter headlining tour that continues tomorrow night (2/18) in Myrtle Beach, SC, the band will be joined on the spring festival outing by Killswitch Engage, Lacuna Coil and Chimaira on the main stage. Spineshank and Crooked X will perform throughout the tour on the festival's second stage, and will be joined at various times during the trek by Suicide Silence, Bury Your Dead, Born of Osiris and After the Burial.

The trek kicks off March 20 in Madison, WI, and runs through the middle of May, with the new additions to the itinerary bringing the total number of shows to 38. Details are below, including Disturbed's continuing winter tour schedule. Complete ticketing information, including on-sale dates, can be found at the event's website.

Apart from the music draws, Music as a Weapon IV will feature a "collection of the greatest tattoo artists from around the country," according to organizers, as well as video games and extreme sports demonstrations.

"We really wanted to make sure fans attending Music as a Weapon this year got the most bang for their buck, so we decided to bring in the tattoo artists, the extreme sports complex, the gaming, and the vendor village to go beyond the usual live music experience and give the concerts the feel of a true event," Disturbed frontman David Draiman said in a statement.

"Our feeling in expanding the festival was to give people maximum entertainment value," he added. "If they are going to part with their hard-earned money, we need to honor that and give them our all in return."

In December, Disturbed scored its first Grammy nomination: Best Hard Rock Performance for the song "Inside The Fire," which is the lead single from June's "Indestructible." The album debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and remained in the Top 10 for five weeks.

The set is the band's third consecutive No. 1, following 2002's "Believe" and 2005's "Ten Thousand Fists," making Disturbed one of only six rock bands in history to score three consecutive chart-topping studio-album debuts, according to a press release.
